Marilyn Killpack Meldrum

Marilyn Killpack Meldrum 1933 ~ 2009 Marilyn Killpack Meldrum, age 75, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on May 29, 2009 due to complications of cancer. She was a choice loving daughter of God and eternal companion to Merlyn S Meldrum. Marilyn was born September 5, 1933 in Provo, Utah. She was the oldest daughter of Lovell Albert and Hazel Foote Killpack. Marilyn was sealed to her high school sweetheart, Merlyn, on February 23, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were married for 58 wonderful years. In life they were inseparable, and in death apart for only two short months. Marilyn was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she gave many years of faithful service in ward and stake callings. She was always an example of love, compassion and acceptance of others and was dedicated to teaching these principles to her children. She will be missed by all who knew her and experienced her loving kindness and gentle demeanor. She is survived by her four sons, Randy (Charlotte), Jeff (Jalynn), Doug (Tammy), Kelly (Keirsten); daughters-in-law, Roberta Meldrum and Celia Meldrum; two sisters and four brothers; 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her sweetheart Merlyn; sons, David and Michael; grandsons, Brent and Cameron and her mother and father. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 3 2009, at 11:00 a.m. in the Mt. Jordan 3rd Ward Chapel, 8950 S. 400 E. Family and friends may call Tuesday evening 6-8 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State St. and at the church on Wednesday morning 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 E. 10600 S. Sandy.

Our beautiful Grandma Meldrum passed away last Friday afternoon, and her funeral was Wednesday. Grandma's funeral was beautiful. It was so amazing to see the love and respect that her sons have for her. Their talks were all so reverent and respectful. The weather was gorgeous, and she looked amazing. It has been such a hard time for the Meldrum family- this is the third death in less than 6 months for them! But, we know how happy Grandma is now that she is with her sweetheart again. They were absolutely inseparable throughout their lives, and after 2 months apart, they get to spend eternity together. We are really missing them right now, but we know that they are both in a better place, and that neither one of them is in pain anymore. We miss and love you, Grandma!
